Heavenly Father, thank You for being our Father. I know I am unworthy to be called your child, for I am a sinner, but because of Your grace, I now have the privilege to be a child of the Lord of Lords. Indeed, You are a perfect God Who is holy and mighty, yet You love me beyond all my lapses and imperfections. Even though I do not put You first, You never use it against me.
Almighty, I am sorry for living my life on my own terms. Please forgive me for the times I have been living selfishly. I fail to recognize Your work and promises because I chase attention, material things, love, power, money, happiness, and validation from the world when I know only You can satisfy my soul. Lord, please remove the greed in my heart, for I want to start right with You.
Father, remind me that you hate greedy people when I am tempted to gain senseless pursuits. Please convict my heart of this greediness of wanting more when I could be resting in Your love. Remove all the petty distractions that the world offers me in the area of materialism and money so that I can live an abundant life that You have defined and not in what I have defined. I know that You are the only One I need to satisfy my inner being.
My loving God, teach me to appreciate the simple things in life so that I may be satisfied with what I have and not envy others. Please help me to be contented in everything and not ask for more than what is enough. And lastly, Lord, reveal all the desires I need to redirect in my life. Thank you for everything, and I pray to be a better instrument of Your grace. In Jesus’ name, amen.
