Heavenly Father, you know my struggles right now. You know how I battle with my negative thoughts and feelings. They are bothering me time and time again and sometimes I get disappointed whenever I fail in the area of character development.
Lord, you know my battle with impatience.You are the one who created me and I know that You understand me more than I understand myself. You know my background and the experiences I had when I was young that led me to become an impatient person.
I also know that You have made me a new creation in Christ. The old has gone and the new has come. You erased all my sins and have given me a new identity. You understand my battle against my old nature. I know that it is Your will for me to be perfected in my character.
Please help me whenever I am severely tempted to be impatient. Expand my capacity to tolerate people and circumstances. Prevent me from acting irritable or responding ungently to others. Help me to hold myself whenever I am losing my patience. Teach me to really die to myself.
Moreover, replace my impatience with more love. Allow me to respond in love to people and to understand where they are coming. Grant me the ability to help them with their needs the way Christ would do. I pray that I will not leave these people behind whenever I feel impatient in dealing with them. I pray that I will not give up on them as You did not give up on me.
Lord, I pray for the fruit of the Holy Spirit to be manifested in me. I pray that love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control will be reflected in my day to day responses. By the grace of God, I know this will happen. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
