8 Feelings to Give to God

Feelings are a natural part of life. They rise like waves—sometimes calm, sometimes overwhelming. But when we carry them alone, they can weigh us down. The good news is that God invites us to bring every feeling to Him. He is not afraid of our honesty. He welcomes our tears, our doubts, our joys, and our pain. Here are eight feelings we can lay at His feet, trusting Him to exchange them for His peace and strength.

1. Fear

Fear whispers of uncertainty and danger. Yet God says, “Do not fear, for I am with you.” (Isaiah 41:10) Give Him your fear, and receive His courage.

2. Anxiety

Worries crowd our minds, stealing rest. Philippians 4:6–7 reminds us to bring every concern to God in prayer. When you give Him your anxiety, He guards your heart with peace.

3. Anger

Unresolved anger weighs heavy and poisons our spirit. Ephesians 4:26–27 calls us to release it before it takes root. Hand your anger to God, and let Him replace it with gentleness.

4. Guilt

The enemy loves to remind us of our failures. But Romans 8:1 declares there is no condemnation in Christ. Surrender your guilt, and rest in His forgiveness.

5. Loneliness

Feeling unseen or forgotten can break the heart. Yet Jesus promises, “I am with you always.” (Matthew 28:20) Give Him your loneliness, and let His presence surround you.

6. Hopelessness

When tomorrow feels heavy, cling to Jeremiah 29:11. God’s plans are filled with hope. Lay down despair, and lift up your eyes to His promises.

7. Grief

Loss leaves us aching. But Psalm 34:18 says the Lord is near to the brokenhearted. Place your grief in His hands, and let Him carry you through.

8. Control

We often cling tightly to what we cannot change. Proverbs 3:5–6 calls us to trust the Lord with all our heart. Release control, and let Him lead the way.

Friend, God doesn’t ask you to hide your feelings—He asks you to bring them to Him. Every fear, every sorrow, every restless thought can be laid at His feet. In exchange, He offers strength for your weakness, peace for your worries, and love for your loneliness.

Today, take a deep breath and whisper this prayer: “Lord, I give You my feelings—the ones I understand and the ones I don’t. Carry them, heal me, and fill me with Your peace.”

When you give your feelings to God, you gain more than relief—you gain His presence, and that is enough.
