A broken heart can feel heavy, lonely, and beyond repair. In those moments, God’s Word speaks life and hope. The Bible reminds us that no pain is too deep for His comfort, no wound too hidden for His healing. Here are three verses to hold onto when your heart is hurting.
1. Psalm 34:18
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
When heartbreak overwhelms you, God is not distant. He draws near. He doesn’t overlook your tears or minimize your pain. He leans in close and holds you in your weakness. You don’t have to hide your brokenness—God meets you there with saving grace.
2. Matthew 11:28
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Jesus extends an invitation to the weary. He doesn’t tell you to fix yourself first—He simply says, “Come.” Your rest is not in distraction or escape, but in Him. When grief feels like a weight you cannot carry, let Him lift it and give your soul peace.
3. Revelation 21:4
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
Heartbreak will not last forever. One day, God Himself will wipe away every tear. This promise points us to eternity, where pain is replaced by joy, and sorrow is swallowed up in life. Even now, this hope gives us strength to keep moving forward.
A broken heart is not the end of your story. God is near, Jesus offers rest, and eternity holds healing. When your heart aches, open your Bible, whisper these verses in prayer, and remember: you are never alone in your pain, and God’s love will see you through.
